If you've found your way here, you may already know that my name is Bill and I enjoy writing songs about God. If you did not know that, well now you do. I hope to be faithful with the songs I write. I'm not sure I know how to do that, but I think this website is a start. It contains the lyrics, chord charts, mp3's, even the stories behind the songs. And it is all free to you. So look around. Enjoy. And thanks for stopping by.

(verse 1)

My heart, my heart is broken
I am coming home
And Your arms, Your arms are open
I am coming

(pre-chorus)
Broken and harmed, You'll find me
But open armed, You remind me

(chorus)
That I am loved
I am not alone
I am loved
With You, I am home

(verse 2)
Your arms, around me, are sealed
I am home
And my heart, my heart is healed
I am home

(pre-chorus 2)
Scared and alone, You found me
But now I know, with Your arms wrapped around me

(bridge)
You sing for me, You dance for me, You want to hold my hand
And You run for me when You see me near
You shout aloud with a joyful cheer
And You hold me, You love me, You want me just as I am

...I am loved

-------------------------------------------------------

This song is an extremely personal song for me. I wrote it during a season of pain and depression. Pain and depression that I rightly deserved, for I earned them by a series of horrible decisions. I honestly did not feel like I was worth a thing to anyone, let alone God.

This season lasted for months, and in the midst of the darkness, I stumbled across a verse in the tiny little book of Zephaniah, tucked way back in the back of the Old Testament. The verse is this...

"The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing." - Zephaniah 3:17

That verse absolutely knocked me, face first, to the ground. I had, for so long, told God every reason why I am not worth His love. And then suddenly, through the words of the prophet Zephaniah, God was saying to me, "Shh. Let my love quiet your restless soul. I take great, great delight in you. In fact, you know all those songs you sing to Me? Those songs that declare your undying love for Me? Those are great and all, don't get me wrong...but wait until you hear the songs I have for you."

That verse changed me. Not instantly. It wasn't some secret potion that I swallowed and was all better. But it did give me a new understanding of the grace of God. And that grace continues to shape me and humble me to this very day.
